Once our mothers told to us, that everything happens for a reason
but they're wrong
And once I gave into lust, and I'm perfectly certain it ruined my truest love
But it wasn't what you would think, not some mindless trangression
you wash yourself of in the bathroom sink
no this was permanent.
And it brought us both to the brink of the measures we'd take
to change what we made and destroy everything
even though we created it.
And it started a war, where either side was unaware of
what the fuck they were fighting for, or that they were fighting
And it cut to the core of my beliefs of what it means to be in
this wonderful world and if I deserve it.
So I stood on the shore and watched the waves proclaim how the change in the tide is like change in our lives
The ebb and the flow of it.
And I shouted for more, for some clarity, some purpose, a reason
for what all the pain is for
But I'm better off not knowing it.
Are we just stones on the shore watching waves washing pieces of us away, stealing us Bit by Bit
No I'm not a stone, not anymore, I'm not a stone
And if a man falls to his knees and there's no one there to see it
is he a man? Does he feel it? Is it real?
No I'm not a stone, not anymore
Not anymore.
